Molodechno, Minsk region (Belarus)
According to THESCIENCETUTOR, Molodechno is located 80 km northwest of Minsk. The city is known for the fact that in 1567 negotiations were held here between Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania on a new political union, the result of which was the creation of the Commonwealth. Since the 18th century, Molodechno belonged to the family of the princes Oginsky. At the end of the 19th century, the Oginskys built a palace complex here, the last owner of which was a prominent politician of the Posoplita River and composer Mikhail Oginsky. To this day, only earthen ramparts have survived from the palace, and in 2001 in Molodechno a monument to Oginsky was erected. Of the sights of the city, one can single out the Church of the Intercession of the late 19th century, the building of the station in 1907, the memorial complex “Stalag 342”, erected on the site of a fascist concentration camp, and the building of the teacher’s seminary in 1762, built on the site of the Trinitarian monastery. It was one of the first teachers’ seminaries in the Russian Empire with a church, a hospital, a library and a symphony orchestra. Molodechno is surrounded by dense forests. The local hunting ground offers hunting for elk, wild boar and roe deer.
South-west of Molodechno in the attack of Minsk on the Rybchanka River there is a sanatorium “Sosnovy Bor”. An artificial lake with beaches has been created on the Rybchanka River, where you can have a great rest. In addition, the sanatorium has a swimming pool, sauna, bar, shop, summer dance floor, disco hall, cinema, video salon, billiards, table tennis, sports grounds and a tennis court with a soft surface.
Myadel, Minsk region (Belarus)
The village of Myadel is located in the northwestern part of the Minsk region between the lakes Batorino and Myastro. It is located on the territory of the National Park “Narochansky” and is one of its main resort centers. In the vicinity of the village there are numerous rest houses and sanatoriums that offer an unforgettable vacation on the lakes.
In addition to lakes and picturesque nature around Myadel concentrated abundance of historical monuments. Here are mounds, burial grounds, settlements and sites of ancient people, starting from the Stone Age. In the center of Lake Myastro there is an island with the remains of the city’s fortifications from the 11th century. It is believed that it was a border fortress of the Polotsk principality. In the 15th century, a stone castle was erected on another island of Lake Myastro during the reign of the Radziwill family. The castle was destroyed during the Northern War, now only ruins have survived from it. Another attraction flaunts on a high city hill – the Church of the Most Holy Virgin Mary, built in the middle of the 18th century in the Baroque style.
Naroch, Minsk region (Belarus)
Naroch is a resort village in the north-west of the Minsk region, located in the picturesque Belarusian Lakeland on the shores of Lake Naroch. In 1999, with the formation of the National Park “Narochansky” in this part of the country, the administrative center of the park was located in the village. The national park covers the northwestern part of the Minsk region, the western part of the Vitebsk region and the northern part of the Grodno region and covers an area of 94,000 hectares. 17.1% of the park area is occupied by lakes, there are about 40 in total. The lakes are surrounded by untouched forests with rare species of animals.
In total, there are three groups of lakes on the territory of the National Park “Narochansky”: Narochanskaya, Myadelskaya and Boldunskaya. The main place in the Naroch group of lakes is occupied by Lake Naroch . This is the largest natural reservoir in Belarus (the area is 80 sq. km). The average depth of the lake is 9 m, length – 13 km, width 10 km. Two dozen streams and a small river flow into the lake, and the only river Naroch flows out. The water in the lake is very clean, which makes it possible to breed whitefish here. In total, 25 species of fish are found in Lake Naroch, including pike perch, bream, pike, roach, eel, bleak, tench, burbot, silver bream, Amur carp and Naroch vendace – selyava, which makes it one of the most popular places for fishing in the country. On the shores of the lake you can see a wide variety of birds.
Sandy beaches stretch along the coastline, on which bases and rest houses and sanatoriums are located. Local sanatoriums specialize in the treatment of the circulatory system, the nervous system, the digestive system and the musculoskeletal system. Treatment takes place on the basis of sulfate-chloride-sodium mineral waters and sapropelic mud. The most popular sanatoriums in this region of the country include the sanatoriums “Naroch”, “Narochansky Bereg”, “Priozerny” and “Sosny”. Lake Naroch is also very popular among fans of windsurfing and kitesurfing, and you can practice these sports both in summer and in winter.
The Naroch group of lakes also includes the second largest lake in Belarus. – Miastro – and Lake Batorino. The Boldunsky group of lakes of the Narochansky National Park includes the Blue Lakes, which have the status of a landscape reserve. The most interesting ecological routes are laid along them. In general, the National Park “Narochansky” offers a variety of routes – bus and hiking routes, you can also go on a cruise on the lakes on a boat. There are guest houses and more than 25 tourist camps on the territory of the park. Tourists are invited not only to see the main attractions of the park, but also to relax on the shores of lakes, horseback riding, hunting and fishing tours.
